With approximately 16.000 spectators and 450 VIPs per day, the VdH Knokke Padel Exhibition of the World Padel Tour from 27 to 29 August 2021 was a huge success.
For three days, the world’s top-ranked players of the World Padel Tour have played against each other in this unique event in Belgium, at the Royal Zoute Tennis and Padel Club, one of the biggest tennis clubs in Europe, with 26 tennis courts, 5 padel courts, bars, restaurant, nightclub… For the occasion, a central hall with 1.800 seats allowed the spectators to enjoy the show offered by world class padel’s stars!
Several Belgian celebrities or ex-champions also played: Sabine Appelmans, Elke Clijsters, Steve Darcis, Olivier Rochus, Filip Dewulf, the Belgian padel champions, some of our Olympic stars of the national hockey team (Tom Boon, Nicolas De kerpel and Simon Gougnard).
In addition to the show, they also witnessed a world first: the prize money of 12.000 euros was paid out in crypto by sponsor bit4you. The winners (P. Navarro + M. Di Nenno for the men and M. Marrero + M. Ortega for the women) and runners-up each received a wallet containing different types of cryptocurrencies.
